Donnaroo
Donna Beasley, Tim Carroll, Elizabeth Cook, Jim Lauderdale

This show could just as easily be called “Alt-Country Awesomeness” or the “Why Aren’t They All Super-Duper Famous?” Opry fave Cook (Sunday Morning, Times Are Tough In Rock And Roll, Mama’s Prayers) know that Sometimes It Takes Balls To Be A Woman AND to be in this industry, as all of these ridiculously talented guys and gals have been for years. Beasley (Just What I’m Looking For, Makin’ Love) has two releases to her name – the most recent, Under The Rushes, has met with nothing but praise and is “highly recommended” by critics. Carroll has multiple cuts by multiple artists in multiple genres – If I Could, I Would by John Prine comes to mind – and he still does his own thing: Elmwood, Find A Way To Win. And as for the Grammy-winning Godfather of Americana/Bluegrass Jim Lauderdale . . . this guy does it all. He fronts bands, he’s in bands, he writes for himself, he writes for others: Twang, I Gotta Get You and so many more. Come see ’em for yourselves – you’ll leave saying they should be super-duper famous.
