Pettersen recently came out with a new album called Song Of America (with impressive guest appearances by John Mellencamp, Andrew Bird and Chris Robinson – just to name a few). It seems that many of the songs written by these wonderful writers would fit nicely onto a record titled Songs Of America, so representative are these writers’ songs of our Country’s culture. These songs embody our musical history: Magnet And Steel, Hearts On Fire, Tulsa Time, Back In My Younger Days, Gulf Coast Highway, I Don’t Want For Anything, I Guess We Shouldn’t Talk About That Now, Strong Enough To Bend, I Keep Coming Back To You, This Kiss, Nothing I Can Do About It Now. . .
