Country music legend Charlie Daniels received the first-ever RARE COUNTRY HUMANITARIAN OF THE YEAR Award, last night at the Bridgestone Arena during the Charlie Daniels 80th Birthday Volunteer Jam. Surprise guests country icon Randy Travis, General Keith Huber and Rare Country's Hunter Kelly presented the award to Daniels during the Jam, honoring his commitment to veterans via The Journey Home Project.
Just prior to Charlie's set, this Rare Country video representing Charlie's heroic work garnered a standing ovation from a crowd of over 15,000+ fans.
Earlier that same evening, Rare Country hosted a private VIP Pre-Jam party at the Bridgestone Arena, which featured acoustic performances by Kellie Pickler, Mark Collie and Ryan Weaver, with a special appearance by Purple Heart recipient and Army veteran BT Urruela.
