Reggie Shaw was raised in Overton, Nebraska where he lived with his grandfather, a retired railroad employee. Reggie was in a near fatal accident when he was fourteen and almost lost his leg. While recovering from the accident, He started watching CMT and listening to Country Music. He discovered Garth Brooks, and the passion for his new dream would soon take place. Reggie entered the Country Showdown for the first time. Although he lost by one point at the state level, he continued to follow his dream. While still in high school, he sang "The River" by Garth Brooks in front of five thousand people at a graduation ceremony. In two years, the size of his audience would increase to thirty-five thousand when he performed in Kansas City at the FFA National Convention. These performances fueled his enthusiasm and lead him to Nashville after graduating high school. Struggling to open his door to success in country music, Reggie played local venues such as: Tootsies, Fiddle and Steel, and The Stage for several years.

In March of 2010, his grandfather passed away. While returning home, Reggie wrote a musical tribute to his grandfather "I'm Gonna Miss Him," which he sang at the memorial service. Following his grandfather's death, Reggie decided to move back home to Nebraska to be closer to his family. Still passionate about his dream, Reggie entered the Colgate Country Showdown for a second time in June of 2010. After success at the local and state levels, Reggie went on to win the Midwest Regional Finals, which brought him to the National Country Showdown at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Reggie and his grandfather's dreams are finally coming true...
