Nashville Songwriters Association International kicked off the annual Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival in Nashville with a kick-off party at The Rutlesge on Tuesday March 8th. Guest performers included Steve Wariner, Marty Dodson, Sandra McCracken and Marshall Chapman.
Tin Pan South not only draws thousands of fans from across the nation for five nights of concerts by songwriting's biggest names, it also attracts influential sponsors from a diverse range of local, national and international businesses. For the fifth consecutive year, Regions Bank is the presenting sponsor of the event, and American Airlines, ASCAP, BMI and SESAC return as Platinum sponsors.
Gold level sponsors include Nashville Scene, NewsChannel 5, and independent music publisher Ole. Sponsors at the Silver level include the Gibson Foundation, Jack Daniels, JACK-fm, Lightning 100 WRLT, Maggiano's Little Italy, Midtown Printing, Music City Unsigned, The Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau, The Music Row Show and WKDF. The dates for the 19th annual Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival are set for March 29 -- April 2, 2011. Produced by NSAI, Tin Pan South is the world's largest all-songwriter festival. Last year more than 300 talented songwriters performed 70+ shows at eight exceptional Nashville venues. Over 9,000 music fans attend the event annually to hear songwriters tell stories behind hit songs they have written and perform the songs as they're were originally composed.
