The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame (NaSHOF) will host its second “Hits From The Hall” show on Tuesday, June 23, at City Winery Nashville. Hall of Fame member Gretchen Peters will be joined by special guests Jim Collins and Shane McAnally for the 6:30 p.m. show.
The three mega-hit songwriters will share the stage as they perform hits they’ve written for artists such as Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Kacey Musgraves, George Strait, Trisha Yearwood and more. Beyond stellar renditions of their own songs, the three writers will swap stories recounting how their hits were written and recorded to give the audience a rare glimpse inside the songs they know and love.

About the performers
Gretchen Peters (2014 Inductee - Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame)
Gretchen Peters was raised in the New York City suburb of Pelham, N.Y. and in Boulder, Colo. She performed in bands in the Boulder/Denver area before moving to Nashville in 1987. Her first big songwriting success was “The Chill Of An Early Fall” recorded by George Strait in 1991. Much of Gretchen’s catalog is solo-written, such as her domestic violence saga “Independence Day,” which was a hit for Martina McBride and named 1995 Country Music Association Song of the Year. The song was nominated for a Grammy Award, as was her 1995 hit by Patty Loveless “You Don’t Even Know Who I Am.” Other hits include “The Secret Of Life” by Faith Hill, “Let That Pony Run” by Pam Tillis, “If Heaven” by Andy Griggs, “My Baby Loves Me” by Martina McBride and “On A Bus To St. Cloud” by Trisha Yearwood. She also has a number of cuts with frequent collaborator/Canadian rocker Bryan Adams such as “This Side Of Paradise” and “Rock Steady” (a duet with Bonnie Raitt). A recording artist herself, Gretchen has recorded eight albums, including 2015’s Blackbirds.
Jim Collins
Texas native Jim Collins is a two-time Grammy nominee whose songs have provided some of Country Music’s biggest hits of the last decade. “The Good Stuff” by Kenny Chesney in 2002 was named Billboard Song of the Year, ASCAP Song of the Year and the Academy of Country Music’s Single of the Year. “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” by Thompson Square was iTunes’ Country Song Of The Year in 2011, as well as Country Aircheck’s #1 Country Song Of The Year and Grammy Award-nominated for Best Country Song. Jim’s songwriting credits also include “Big Green Tractor” by Jason Aldean, “Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven” by Kenny Chesney, “It Just Comes Natural” by George Strait, “I Don’t Feel Like Lovin’ You Today” by Gretchen Wilson (Grammy Award nominated), “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” by Kenny Chesney, “Then They Do” by Trace Adkins, “Hands Of A Workin’ Man” by Ty Herndon, “Love Workin’ On You” by John Michael Montgomery, “Yes” by Chad Brock and “Baby, Be My Love Song” by Easton Corbin.
Shane McAnally
Texas native Shane McAnally is a Grammy Award-winning songwriter and record producer who left college to pursue a music career in Nashville. Though his 2000 artist debut on Curb yielded a pair of Top 40 singles, Shane began to focus on songwriting. Eight years later he enjoyed his breakthrough hit with “Last Call” by Lee Ann Womack. Within a couple of years, the floodgates opened with hits such as “Somewhere With You” by Kenny Chesney, “Alone With You” by Jake Owen, “Come Over” by Kenny Chesney, “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye” by Luke Bryan, “Better Dig Two” by The Band Perry, “Merry Go 'Round” by Kacey Musgraves (2013 Grammy Award for Best Country Song), “Mama's Broken Heart” by Miranda Lambert, “Downtown” by Lady Antebellum, “Follow Your Arrow” by Kacey Musgraves (2014 Country Music Association Song of the Year), “American Kids” by Kenny Chesney, “Leave The Night On” by Sam Hunt, “Take Your Time” by Sam Hunt, “Say You Do” by Dierks Bentley and “Wild Child” by Kenny Chesney. Shane co-produced Kacey Musgraves’ 2013 album Same Trailer Different Park, which earned him a Grammy Award for Best Country Album, as well as an Academy of Country Music Award for Album of the Year. He was also the Academy of Country Music’s Songwriter of the Year in 2014.
