KEB’ MO’ AND VINCE GILL HEADLINE
MUSIC VOYAGER WORLD PREMIERE

Tennessee’s fascinating music culture and history was captured and shown at the world premiere of Music Voyager: Tennessee – Nashville, Music City Feb. 15 at the Franklin Theatre. Artists Vince Gill and Keb’ Mo’ took the stage in a surprise musical performance to celebrate the launch of the series, which will soon make its way into 170 million homes worldwide.

Music Voyager is a music and travel series that gives viewers an up-close observation of the world’s most popular music. Music Voyager: Tennessee takes viewers along Interstate 40, known as the “Music Highway,” from Bristol to Memphis. Jacob Edgar, Music Voyager on-camera host, was the emcee for the Feb. 15 event that highlighted the Middle Tennessee portion of the series. The airing of the episode was followed by a sneak preview of a special fourth episode, “The Round.” Two additional Music Voyager episodes highlight the music of Memphis and East Tennessee, respectively. Premiere events of these episodes are slated for later this year.

“Tennessee and Music Voyager is a match made in music heaven,” said Commissioner Susan Whitaker, Tennessee Department of Tourist Development. “There’s no doubt that Music Voyager: Tennessee will help showcase the already enormous significance of the music of Tennessee on the world stage.”

The elite evening of entertainment and celebration also featured a performance by Alison Brown and Ron Ickes, along with remarks by Commissioner Whitaker.

In addition to the worldwide television audience of 170 million homes, Music Voyager: Tennessee will air in the in-flight television programing for 13 airlines and will be available in-room through several luxury and resort hotels throughout the world.
